Zapier Agents (Central) launch resulted in +1.6k signups in the first week
Overview
Zapier launched Central (now Agents) as a new platform for creating and deploying AI agents. I led the design and launch of Central’s visual identity along with its homepage. We wanted to give it a brand that stood out within Zapier’s ecosystem while still feeling part of it.
The goal: craft a distinct and inspiring identity that communicated Central’s value and accelerated early adoption.
Challenge
Zapier’s brand is well-established and recognized. The challenge was to design an identity for Central that:
Reflected Zapier’s umbrella brand consistency.
Expressed Central’s unique product value and positioning.
Could scale across marketing, product, and community channels.
All within a tight launch timeline and with multiple stakeholders involved.
My Role & Approach
1. Aligning stakeholders and defining direction
I worked closely with Zapier’s brand, marketing, and product leads to define the creative brief. Early on, I advocated for a shared design language that reinforced Zapier’s master brand while giving Central a recognizable, standalone character.
This meant pushing back on early proposals that felt too detached and ensuring cohesion across the ecosystem. I built multiple moodboards to help get us on the same page.

2. Building the visual identity system
I designed three comprehensive identity proposals covering:
Logo concepts
Color palette and visual system
Typography and breakpoint guidelines
We ended up choosing the fresh and vibrant direction with agents playing the core part.

3. Designing and launching the homepage
I designed the marketing homepage, including visual layout, copywriting, and product demo storytelling.

I collaborated with external developers and creative partners to ensure a smooth implementation and consistent design fidelity from Figma to production. In the process, I created guidelines for breakpoints, typography, and all the atoms of the system.

4. Adding a variable reward element
We wanted to capture the variable reward of creating your own AI agent—the sense of surprise and delight that comes with every new iteration. I designed an avatar generation system that gives each agent a unique face and personality.

5. Driving collaboration
I led creative direction sessions with external designers, providing feedback loops and vision alignment under tight timelines. I also facilitated cross-functional workshops to integrate diverse perspectives and refine creative decisions rapidly.
Outcomes
1,6K signups in the first week
Financial milestone reached in the first year
A cohesive, scalable identity system across Central touchpoints
Strong internal adoption and cross-team alignment on brand direction
